Digital Shokunin Adapts Adult Manga into Anime
- Digital Shokunin announced the anime adaptation on Friday alongside a commemorative music video featuring the song “Boogieing Dance Kishi.”
- The source material is an irregular adult sex comedy fantasy manga that began serialization in October 2015 and spans four compiled volumes.
- Author Amahara’s previous works include Interspecies Reviewers and The Idaten Deities Know Only Peace, both of which also received television anime adaptations.
YouTube Channel Launches with Promotional Music Video
The newly announced anime project launched its official YouTube channel with a music video for a track titled “Boogieing Dance Kishi” (Boogieing Dance Knights). animenewsnetwork.com noted that the song features vocals by Sekka, composition and arrangement by Suzumi, and lyrics by Sekka and Suzumi. Meanwhile, animerelay.com credited the vocals to SEKKA while noting the song serves as the opening theme for the project, and ani-box.com added that the promotional video utilizes panels from the original manga and marks the series’ 10th anniversary alongside the official work logo and main character designs.
Ten Years of Irregular Serialization
Amahara launched the original adult sex comedy fantasy manga in KATTS’ online adult manga magazine Ananga Ranga in October 2015. animenewsnetwork.com reported that the series is still ongoing irregularly, with new chapters frequently spanning only one or two pages. Flex Comics subsequently published the manga’s fourth compiled book volume on January 15. The story follows Mail and her friends as they cope with exploitative working conditions that leave them too busy to satisfy their sexual desires, spending their minimal free time drinking and pleasuring themselves.

The Author’s Prior Screen Adaptations
The creator’s past manga works have a history of successful television adaptations. Amahara and masha’s sex comedy fantasy manga Interspecies Reviewers debuted as a one-shot in Kadokawa’s Monthly Dragon Age in July 2016 before moving to the Nico Seiga website. Kadokawa published the 12th compiled book volume of that series on October 9, following a 2020 television anime adaptation that faced platform removals by Funimation and Amazon Prime Video before receiving an uncensored Blu-ray release by Right Stuf in December 2021.
Additionally, Amahara’s web manga The Idaten Deities Know Only Peace was remade by Coolkyoushinja in Hakusensha’s Young Animal magazine, concluding its run in August 2024. That adaptation premiered on Fuji TV’s Noitamina block in July 2021 with streaming via Crunchyroll. As Digital Shokunin moves forward with the new adaptation, production staff, broadcast schedules, and streaming platforms remain unannounced.
