Followers of the Egyptian singer Amal Maher were surprised by the return of her official channel on the YouTube video site, on Monday, amid an uproar about the disappearance of the famous singer.
Over the past few days, the name of the Egyptian singer, Amal Maher, topped the lists of the most searched and popular on search engines and social networking sites in Egypt.
An uproar arose on social networks after a page attributed to Amal Maher on Facebook claimed that the singer had disappeared a few days ago and a raid on her house, which was denied by security sources to local Egyptian media.
On July 28, 2020, singer Amal Maher’s followers were surprised by the deletion of her YouTube channel, as well as all of her songs that she presented on the page.
In this context, artist Hani Shaker, head of the Syndicate of Musical Professions in Egypt, sent a message to singer Amal Maher during a telephone interview with the media, Engy Anwar, presenter of the “New Egypt” program, stressing that he tried to contact her more than once, but all her phones were closed, explaining that the union called her family after failing to reach her.
He added that the family of Amal Maher was contacted and confirmed that she is fine and the rumors that were recently issued on social media platforms are not true. He continued: “Please, Amal, look at the public and public opinion and clarify your position because the ball is in your court, not the Musicians Syndicate.”
The artist, Nadia Mustafa, a member of the Council of the Syndicate of Musical Professions in Egypt, also appealed to her colleague Amal Maher to respond to her, saying: “Go to the reassurance of your loved ones and reassure me of people and say that I am fine, and I was late for you because my soul was tired or in need.”
And she added, in a telephone interview to the program “Hadrat Al-Muwatin” on the “Al-Hadath Al-Youm” satellite channel: “I ask people to inform me of the issue. I am not responsible, and I do not know what the purpose of questioning my words is, but I, O God, have reached God, so bear witness, and the Messenger has nothing but to communicate.”
