According to L’Avenir, the firefighters of the Hemeco zone intervened, accompanied by colleagues from Liège. It is the Priory of Amay which is affected. The entire building is engulfed in flames. As our colleagues indicate, the building was unoccupied and regularly squatted. There would be no victim according to the first information.

By mid-followingnoon, the fire seemed to be under control. However, firefighters remained on site to ensure that the fire did not resume and spread to neighboring buildings. “It’s sad to see a monument like this disappear. Emotion overwhelms me“, indicated the acting mayor, Catherine Delhez, to our colleagues from Sudinfo.
