US President Joe Biden signed a law according to which US intelligence must declassify data on the origin of the coronavirus. About it March 20 informs White House press office.

The President signed into law the COVID-19 Origins Act of 2023, which requires the Director of National Intelligence to declassify certain data on the origins of COVID-19.

In August 2021, US intelligence declassified a report on the study of the nature of the coronavirus. It stated that the virus was not developed as a biological weapon and most likely was not a product of genetic engineering. The origin of COVID-19 has remained a mystery, with natural transmission from an infected animal and a laboratory incident being the main hypotheses.
