THE CHAIRMAN of the AMIN Legal Team, Ari Yusuf Amir, said that he had revealed which witnesses from their side were intimidated during the campaign process until after yesterday’s election.
Ari also mentioned various forms of intimidation experienced in the form of pressure, criminalization, having his house visited, and threats to be policed.
“We should have proven things that are intimidating, things that are pressure, the legal process and our democracy. We’re tired. Our witnesses were intimidated a lot on our journey and during the campaign there was a lot of intimidation. “That must be stopped,” said Ari to Media Indonesia at the Constitutional Court Building, Thursday (21/3).
“Some of our witnesses were criminalized, their homes were visited, they were threatened with being policed. “Then they were told to apologize, they were told to withdraw the report, that happened a lot,” he added.
He hopes that through a lawsuit to the Constitutional Court (MK), various forms of intimidation and criminalization can be legally processed because they have tarnished the principles of democracy.
Ari also said that his party would prosecute the involvement of the authorities in yesterday’s election. This also includes the problem of misuse of the state budget through the massive distribution of social assistance to win one of the candidate pairs.
“There’s a lot going on here, involvement of the authorities, misuse of the state budget, involvement of village heads, fixing of numbers. We explain everything in our application. “Because of that, in our petition, we ask that there be a repeat vote, but that the source of the problem with the vice presidential candidate should not be included, so that cheating doesn’t happen,” concluded Ari.
