Amsterdam EasyHotel Fire Forces 140 Guests to Flee

Midnight Evacuation at Amsterdam EasyHotel

One hundred and forty hotel guests fled into the dark night on Monday after a major fire erupted at the easyHotel along the Johan Cruijff Boulevard in Amsterdam-Zuidoost, De Telegraaf reported.

The emergency call reached the fire department at 23:45 on Monday evening. Heavy smoke billowed through the building. Because of the high number of occupants inside, dispatchers quickly scaled up the response to a large fire. Several emergency units rushed to the scene, deploying personnel to the square in front of the building where local press photographers captured the unfolding operation.

Search Sweeps and Medical Evaluations

Firefighters swept the premises multiple times to ensure everyone managed to escape the rooms safely. NOS noted that the blaze likely originated from an appliance that caught fire. The fire department brought the flames under control rapidly and subsequently began ventilating the smoke-filled structure.

Ambulance crews evaluated several individuals on site for smoke inhalation. According to StadIndex, four people inhaled smoke during the incident, with two patients requiring transport to a hospital for further medical evaluation.
