An African team will win the World Cup in 15 years

Morocco coach Walid Regragui expects an African team to win the World Cup in the next 15 years, following his team became the first African and Arab to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup in history.

Regragui said in statements to reporters following Morocco lost the match for third and fourth places on Saturday: We wanted to bring joy to the hearts of our fans, but we are still happy, we are among the four best teams in the world.

And he continued: African football is ready to effectively face the best teams in the world and provide the best levels. We will most likely absorb what we have achieved in Qatar following four years, in the next World Cup. The pressure will be greater as well, there will be expectations surrounding us, that’s normal.

He concluded: I am confident that a team from Africa will win the World Cup within 15 years.
