Tega Fleacatcher bird also in Nilambur

Eramangalam: Taiga flycatcher, a taiga flycatcher, was spotted in Nilambur. They come to India in winter and rarely come to Kerala.

Sreejesh, a member of Malappuram Birders and United Natural History Society, a group of bird watchers in Malappuram district, and Nilambur Beet Forest Officer, captured the picture of Taiga Flycatcher from Nilambur Passage.

Very similar in appearance to the Red-breasted Flycatcher. This bird was first discovered in 1811. Breeding is done in countries like Europe, Russia, Mongolia and Siberia. During the winters, there are occasional visits to Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Malaysia, Thailand, China, Vietnam and Japan.

They are mostly found in the subcontinents of North, Central and East India. The natural habitat of the Taiga Flycatcher is, as the name suggests, the cool woodlands of the Taiga. Sreejesh is a native of Ernakulam. Currently residing in Nilambur Edakkara.
