Riyadh – The narcotics department of Riyadh has announced that it has foiled an attempt to smuggle millions of narcotic pills. Four people who were in possession of intoxicating drugs were arrested and handed over to public prosecution.
The narcotic drug was discovered during a security follow-up on drug smuggling and supply chains. Mohammad Al Nujaidi, spokesman for the General Directorate of Narcotics Control, said that 2,035,200 amphetamine pills were seized, hidden in a wooden container.
The Ministry of Home Affairs, through its various security agencies and in coordination with the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, will nab those trying to smuggle drugs into the country and take strong action against them, the ministry said.
