In Barranquilla cases of patients infected with covid-19 continue to increase. The Mayor’s Office of Barranquilla, through the Ministry of Health, announced that this behavior is expected during the next two weeks.
Just this Thursday, the Ministry of Health reported a total of 843 new contagions in the city.
The head of the Health portfolio, Humberto Mendoza, explained that the city was having a prevalence of the omicron variant with 40%, while the other 60% of infections correspond to the Delta and Mu variants; however, omicron is expected to outperform the other lineages because of its rapid spread.
