Giovanna Antonelli The premiere of the series “Clone” took place in 2001, and the project immediately became a sensation. Archaic views of the Moroccan city of Fez, Arab bazaars, the desert, the coast of Rio de Janeiro, oriental dances – all this fascinated the audience. However, few people know that the creators of the series deftly led the fans by the nose.

First of all, many viewers from all over the world were amazed in the “Clone” by the scenes filmed in Morocco. Even today, this trend continues, which is not surprising – after all, the Arab world still remains a mystery to most. By the way, it can immediately be noted that often the creators of the project quite freely interpreted the customs and traditions of Morocco in particular, and the Muslim East in general. Here we can note another trick that the people responsible for the “Clone” went to.

The fact is that constantly shooting “Arab” scenes in Morocco and in the desert was extremely difficult. The equipment could not withstand the hot weather, and the actors and cameramen also suffered. In addition, one day of filming in Africa cost the team 100,000 reais, which is 1,819,000 rubles at the current rate.

Not surprisingly, the director of The Clone decided to build a small replica of Fez. Throughout the series, we see repetitive scenes showing Zhadi’s homeland – these are shots of a real Arab city, but already home episodes and some other moments were filmed in specially built scenery.

The creators went to considerable tricks when preparing Giovanna Antonelli for the role of Zhadi. Many are sure that the Brazilian actress herself was exactly what she was seen on the small screens. However, the star had neither lush breasts nor luxurious curls. With a hairstyle, everything was simple, Giovanna was given overhead strands. With the bust of the performer of the main character, everything was somewhat more complicated. Here is how Antonelli herself spoke about this in an interview with Express Gazeta in 2002:

“Silicone pads. The writers needed a bomb, so they stuffed all sorts of rubbish in my bra.

It is known that in the frame already in the second half of the “Clone” one of the actresses was replaced. The fact is that Deborah Falabella came down with meningitis in the midst of work. Due to the burning deadlines, it was impossible to stop the filming process, and therefore the performer of the role of Mel was replaced by her sister Cynthia. Many fans of the series are still surprised when they find out about this fact. By the way, Cynthia also played Lobata’s daughter in Clone.
