Scientists have found an unexpected discovery on Mars: a formation that looks like a bear’s face.

A camera on NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter captured an image of the formation on Dec. 12. The University of Arizona, which operates the camera, participated.
The lunar and planetary laboratory at the University of Arizona says: “The circular shape pattern may be the result of sediment accumulating over a buried crater.” “Maybe the nose is a volcanic vent or mudflow and the deposits might be lava or mudflows?”
