The Egyptian Medicines Authority sent an urgent message to citizens about counterfeit pharmaceutical preparations, as counterfeit medicines and preparations are defined as medicines that are manufactured outside the legitimate pharmaceutical manufacturing system, so that they resemble the original medicines.
The Egyptian Medicines Authority said: “The counterfeit medicine may contain active substances in the wrong proportion, incorrect and ineffective ingredients, or may not contain any active substances.”

The Medicines Authority advised citizens to refer to a doctor or pharmacist before obtaining any medicine, as it said: “A pharmacist is an expert in all matters related to medicine and its doses.”
