Spotted by Hikikomori Media on Youtube (video below), this update available on Xbox Series X reduces some problems related to DRM, these systems that guarantee that someone has the rights to use a product. In February, the Youtuber pointed out to Microsoft that it was sometimes impossible to install a game correctly from a disc due to online checks deemed unnecessary. And it looks like Microsoft has taken notice.
The information was confirmed by the engineer Eden Marie who confirms that the 2208 update considerably reduces these unnecessary checks which sometimes annoyed the players.

As the video shows, Resident Evil Village on Xbox One now installs perfectly in offline mode on Xbox Series X, but that’s not (yet?) the case with Halo Infinite or Forza Horizon 5 for whom it absolutely is necessary to connect to the Internet to be able to play the game, even when you have the game disc.
