The new feature was announced on the Google Workspace blog and is now available to all Google Drive users on iOS. To use it, simply tap the “Type” filter when searching on Google Drive.

A drop-down menu will open showing the types of files you have saved. In the example below we see documents, spreadsheets, presentations, shapes, images and photos, PDFs, videos, shortcuts, folders, websites, audio and even shapes.

Just select and the results will only show files of the chosen type, making the search easier, after all, Google offers 15 GB of free storage by default, enough to store thousands of files of various types.

According to Google, the new feature is currently only available on iOS, but it should arrive on Google Drive for Android soon.
