Andreas Voulgaris left Alcatrash: his emotional farewell

After a decade full of successes and artistic creation, Andreas Voulgaris announced his departure from Alcatrash, the band that started as a group of friends from Patras and managed to stand out on the music scene.

The first indication of the band’s separation came from Alcatrash themselves, when they published a photo of themselves without Voulgaris, announcing the continuation of their collaboration with Natassa Theodoridou for the winter performances on the Piraeus Coast. The fans, noticing his absence, did not take long to comment and wonder what happened.

A few hours later, Voulgaris himself gave the answer through an emotional post on social media, confirming his departure. He specifically mentioned:

“10 years of Alcatrash and I am moved by all that I experienced, personally and artistically. Through the band, I connected emotionally as well as artistically with three people, with whom we managed to become good friends and bring our dreams and our music to the world. I’m full of experiences and gratitude, but it’s time to close this cycle.”

He then emphasized his personal decision to leave, noting: “When things in my life stop giving me joy, if I can’t change them, I leave. Joy is a personal matter and I will look for it in other, more my own paths. Alcatrash is a love that will never end for me. Thank you Petros, Stavros, Konstantines for everything! You know.”

His departure comes at a time when the band continues its artistic journey, while Voulgaris’ next moves remain open, with the audience awaiting his new professional steps.
