On Monday, the FIA officially announced the approval of Andretti Cadillac’s joint application to participate in Formula 1. Performance in the championship is still far away, since the team will have to negotiate with FOM on the commercial terms of participation in Formula 1, but Michael Andretti’s team is confident that they will not occupy a lot of time.
“Andretti Cadillac is honored to have the FIA approve Andretti Formula Racing’s entry into Formula 1,” the American team said in a statement. “We value the FIA’s rigorous, transparent and comprehensive evaluation process and are delighted to have the opportunity to participate in such a prestigious championship with a rich history.
