A pig transport with around 150 pigs overturned on Monday morning on Stendalvej east of Tårs.
Several of the pigs were seriously injured, and a veterinarian is now in the process of euthanizing them. The police do not know how many pigs are to be killed.

The accident happened shortly before 8, where the truck came out into the soft slope and partially overturned on its side.
The driver has not come to anything, informs chief of duty René Kortegaard from North Jutland Police.
A recovery vehicle has arrived at the scene of the accident, and the road is closed while the work to kill the pigs and the recovery of the pig transport takes place.
Stendalvej is expected to reopen at 11 a.m., the police say.
Animal Protection: Prevention
Last year there were several accidents involving animal transport, including at least two in North Jutland. Among other things, April 27 near Vrensted west of Brønderslev, where a truck with 35 sows overturned and caught fire.
The protection of animals has previously called for a mapping and analysis of accidents involving tall and heavily laden animal transports.
– We must do more to prevent accidents that have major animal welfare and human consequences. Therefore, both the industry and the authorities should focus on the many accidents with pig transport vehicles, stated veterinarian Ditte Erichsen from Dyrenes Beskyttelse last year.
– Death and suffering
– The accidents lead to death and suffering in pigs. Injured pigs can lie for a long time waiting to be euthanized, and even for those pigs that are not immediately seriously physically injured, there will be hours filled with anxiety, stress and pain, said Ditte Erichsen.
