The shock of the evening between the Lakers and the Bucks turned to the advantage of Anthony Davis and Los Angeles. The California interior was huge with 44 points against an equally impressive Giannis Antetokounmpo (40 points). Despite the return of Khris Middleton, Milwaukee bows and the Lakers have been gaining momentum for some time.
At the top of the Eastern Conference, after five straight wins, the Celtics lost in overtime to Miami. Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro and Jimmy Butler, who was returning from injury, compiled 79 points against Jayson Tatum’s 14 small points. Donovan Mitchell (34 points) and the Cavaliers were serious about beating Orlando and Bradley Beal and the Wizards missed their comeback against Charlotte. The back of Washington multiplied the waste in the last minute. The Nets easily disposed of the Raptors.
The Hawks resisted the absences of Trae Young and John Collins, thanks to Dejounte Murray (34 points), to deprive the Nuggets of a fifth victory in a row. The Suns also saw their winning streak (six) come to an end against Houston. Phoenix had a hand in this part before letting go and failing to score the winning basket, despite four attempts in the last twenty seconds!
New Orleans (three wins in a row) and Memphis take advantage of these setbacks to get closer to the top of the Western Conference. Zion Williamson (30 points and 15 rebounds) crushed the poor Spurs, who now manage ten straight losses. Ja Morant and the Grizzlies dominate Joel Embiid (34 points). The Pacers have had defensive issues for two games, once again conceding over 135 points. The Jazz therefore had fun against Indiana. Finally, the Warriors and Jordan Poole (30 points) are doing well against the Bulls.
