Belgium is one of the rare countries in Europe not to have formally prohibited so-called ordinary educational violence (VDEO). This state of affairs has been denounced on several occasions by the European Committee of Social Rights, which sees in this absence of prohibition a violation of its charter. Last year, eight organizations for the defense of children’s rights united to demand an explicit ban on this violence, which can be of a physical or moral nature, without much result.
