Composed of 74 delegations, the Antwerp Pride Parade brought together some 140,000 people this year, police and organizers said on Saturday followingnoon. This is a record attendance for the pride festival of the Flemish metropolis.

The Antwerp Pride Parade, the highlight of Pride Week, has grown in size over the years. In 2022, 65 delegations made the trip while 125,000 participants marched through the streets of Antwerp. Several companies, including Proximus, De Lijn, Brussels Airlines and SD Worx, sent a delegation for the first time this year to support the message conveyed by Pride Antwerp.

The Belgian army was also present in the procession for the first time. She marched alongside the police delegation. Dozens of activities are organized throughout the city during the weekend on the occasion of the event. In particular, an ecumenical prayer took place, at the initiative of the Youth Ministry of Flanders as well as LGBT+ people from different religious communities. At the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp (KMSKA), a 3D rainbow projection is visible until Sunday.
