Apple has patent for Vision Pro with completely wireless charging

Presented in June this year, the Apple Vision Pro It will only be released at the beginning of next year. Still, Apple has been registering some patents related to the device, such as an automatic adjustment system for faces. Now, we have one more property relating to another aspect of the augmented/virtual reality headset.

The patent in question describes a system through which recharging and data transfer to the Vision Pro could occur completely wireless. This would occur with the use of an optical communication and wireless charging device that needs to be close to the headset so that recharging can occur.

This device could, as remembered by Patently Apple, contain a coil, just like the Vision Pro, to generate current. For data transfer, in turn, infrared or other types of optical waves can be used. There may also be structures to help the device stay secure, as well as magnets to be attracted and magnetically aligned on the headset.

The patent also includes a system with optical transmitters and cameras, light sources and remote processing circuits. These devices could also form an optional docking structure for the Vision Pro, which could be placed in a space such as ceilings, walls or shelves.

The headset itself can even include transmitters to communicate with these remote components. Receiving signal from cameras to generate images, there would be a processor, which could be located both in the Vision Pro and in the coupling structure, communicating via Bluetooth or transmitters.

Considering the low battery life of the first model (around two hours), a way to make recharging more practical will certainly increase the experience of using the device. It is still too early, however, to say that industrial property will actually be used in a product and how this could occur.
