Apple marketing chief Greg Joswiak announced that Apple is planning to introduce new products on Tuesday, October 13, inviting media to New York City for hands-on time while others will likely see new devices introduced via press releases starting at 9:00 a.m.
The rollout follows an unconventional format. A teaser video shared by Joswiak points directly to home-focused technology.
The Siri-Powered Home Hub Deployment
Apple’s long-rumored home hub is finally ready to ship, arriving after waiting on the completion of Siri AI. The device features a 6-inch display and comes in two distinct hardware configurations. One variant mounts directly onto a wall, while the other pairs with a half-dome speaker base.
Siri AI sits at the core of the experience, giving users an interface to retrieve information and answers. The hub runs a variant of tvOS—potentially branded as homeOS—supporting familiar Apple applications and widgets. When idle, the device displays the time and customizable widgets. It includes a built-in camera for video calls and kitchen use alongside video playback capabilities. Presence sensors and facial recognition identify specific family members nearby to dynamically swap to personalized interfaces showing individual calendar events and controls for connected smart home accessories. Pricing is expected to start around $350, with Apple anticipating households purchasing multiple units.
HomePod Mini and Apple TV 4K Gain Faster Chips
Alongside the new home hub, the HomePod mini is receiving a refresh. The updated speaker includes new color options, a faster processor, and an N1 networking chip that brings Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread connectivity. Siri AI features are expected to extend to this updated mini form factor.
The Apple TV 4K is also slated for internal upgrades. It gains a faster chip—potentially the A19 or A19 Pro—paired with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM. Like the HomePod mini, the new set-top box incorporates the N1 networking chip for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread, and will support the full Siri AI experience.
Upcoming October 27 Product Launch
The iPad mini is getting a major upgrade featuring an OLED display, improved waterproofing, and a faster chip, and it is expected to carry a higher price tag. Apple is also planning to launch an OLED touchscreen MacBook, which could be released as a MacBook Pro or a new MacBook “Ultra.” This model will feature the same M5 Pro and M5 Max chips as current MacBook Pro models alongside an all-new display and a thinner, lighter design, positioning it as a premium product likely to cost more than current high-end 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro devices.
Additional hardware on the roadmap includes an M6 iMac and a 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by an M6 chip.
