Rumors that the feature would arrive in Vietnam began last July. Since then, several local banks have started preparing to accept it. An example is the Techcombankwhich, according to leaks, should soon accept Apple Pay.

According to 9to5Macthe Vietnamese government seems to be optimistic about the arrival of the service, indicating that it will further encourage people to leave their money at home and opt for digital payment methods.

Interestingly, in the country it is common to make payments by QR code, so it will be interesting to see how Apple Pay will compete with this method. The arrival of the resource in Vietnam comes three months after the opening of the Apple online store in the country.

This year, the service also arrived in Guatemala, El Salvador, Panama and Honduras. And it looks like it won’t stop there: after years of negotiations, Chile should receive the service tomorrow (8/8), according to rumours. We will continue to follow, therefore!
