Apple renounces to change the call interface on iPhone

If iOS 17 has a lot of attractive features, a change discovered in the beta was not unanimous.

By moving to iOS 17, Apple wanted to try a very small change in the call interface: move the button that allows you to hang up. Thus, it went from centered to at the bottom right of the screen. A choice that we discovered in the betas of the new operating system.

However, it would seem that this change has not been unanimous. Many people were indeed criticizing a change that cut too much with habits for such a commonly used button.

It would seem that Apple has heeded the criticism, as the button has once once more migrated back to the center of the screen. With however some changes remaining because the button is now surrounded by a panoply of options which were rather at the top of the screen on iOS 16. A position a little further down the screen than what users are accustomed to, but to which it should nevertheless remain rather easy to adapt.

It’s a small touch-up coming as the release of iOS 17 draws closer, as iPhone owners should be able to enjoy it this fall, although no official release date has been announced.
