Apple unveils Mac Studio with M1 Ultra processor

posed Apple is a high-powered desktop computer sandwiched between the Mac mini and Mac Pro called the Mac Studio, which is a compact device with a 20-core M1 Ultra chip and a 64-core GPU.

The company believes that the Mac Studio is up to 60 percent faster than a 28-core Intel Mac Pro on CPU tasks, and 80 percent faster than the fastest Mac graphics card capable of processing up to 18 8K ProRes streams simultaneously. .

The device has four Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB-A ports, an HDMI port, Ethernet and an audio port on the back. The device also offers a USB-C connector and an SD card slot on the front.

The Mac Studio can support up to four Pro Display XDR displays and a 4K TV, Apple says.

The computer is also energy efficient, and the company claims that the Mac Studio uses about 100 watts less power than a 16-core Windows system with similar performance levels.

Mac Studio starts at $1,999 with the M1 Max, 32GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD, and will be available March 18th.

A $3,999 version includes the M1 Ultra, 64GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD. While the 128 GB RAM and 8 TB SSD version costs $ 7,999.

Apple adds a new screen to its lineup

The company announced Studio Display during a Peek Performance event. The 27-inch standalone display features 5K resolution with 14.7 million pixels, 600 nits of brightness and P3 wide color gamut coverage. But with a refresh rate of 60 Hz.

It also includes True Tone technology, which allows the monitor to match its panel’s color temperature to the ambient lighting in your room.

At the top of the screen is a 12MP ultra-wide camera with Center Stage, a first for a company screen.

This feature automatically keeps you in the center of the frame during FaceTime and Zoom calls, resulting in a more natural video calling experience.

The Studio Display also comes with a six-speaker sound system that supports Dolby Atmos’ spatial sound. The screen internally includes an A13 Bionic processor to enhance the camera and audio capabilities of Studio Display.

The display also comes with four USB-C ports, one of which provides a Thunderbolt 3 connection. This connection can provide up to 96 watts of power to your Mac notebook, allowing you to quickly charge your 14-inch MacBook Pro.

Studio Display is available for pre-order today starting at $1,599. The company offers a glass option designed to reduce glare in brightly lit workplaces. This option adds an additional $300 to the price of the monitor.

You also have multiple holder options. And if you’re using a tilt or VESA adapter, they come at no additional cost. But if you want a stand that supports height adjustment, you need to pay $400 more. Studio Display ships March 18th.

M1 Ultra processor revealed

announced The company announced its new processor M1 Ultra, which is basically two M1 Max chips together. The processor is characterized by what the company calls UltraFusion, which is an architecture Allow it to connect multiple chipsets.

This feature is similar to AMD’s Infinity Fabric, which ensures fast communication between the CPU, GPU and other components.

The company says UltraFusion handles up to 2.5 terabytes per second of bandwidth. As a result, this should not lead to any slowdown in performance between the two M1 Max chips.

The M1 Ultra contains 114 billion transistors. It can be configured with up to 128GB of unified memory with 800GB of bandwidth.

The M1 Ultra features a 20-core CPU (16 high performance and 4 high efficiency cores), a 64-core GPU and a 32-core Neural Engine.

The 32-core Neural Engine on the M1 Ultra runs up to 22 trillion operations per second. This helps speed up the most difficult machine learning tasks.

And given that the M1 Ultra debuts with Apple’s new Mac Studio, you don’t have to worry about battery life.

The company says the M1 Ultra is more efficient than competitors. The processor uses 65 percent less power than the 10-core x86 chip.

With twice the media drive capabilities of the M1 Max, the M1 Ultra delivers an unprecedented transfer rate for ProRes video and decoding. And the new Mac Studio with the M1 Ultra can play back up to 18 8K ProRes 422 video streams.

The M1 Ultra also integrates custom Apple technologies, such as a display engine capable of powering multiple external displays. As well as the integrated Thunderbolt 4 controllers, and the latest Secure Enclave from Apple. In addition to hardware-verified secure boot, runtime anti-exploit techniques.
