Rumors predict an increase of 100 euros for the future iPhone Pro, which the American brand must present in September to the public.

Apple is expected to further increase the price of its smartphones. According to the specialized site MacRumors, the Californian group could offer its next iPhone Pro models – the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max – at 100 euros more than the iPhone 14 Pro. The manufacturer must present its new range of mobile phones on September 12, during its back-to-school keynote.

This rumor about a new price increase is not new. Hong Kong tech analyst Jeff Pu anticipated an increase in prices in March. And Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman also believes that a price increase for the two high-end models should occur.

It would be explained in particular by several novelties. First, a titanium chassis, instead of stainless steel, to make the bezels thinner. But also the installation of a periscope camera on the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the switch to the more powerful A17 chip for both devices.

A lower increase than last year

As a reminder, Apple sold the iPhone 14 Pro at 1329 euros when it was released, when the 14 Pro Max peaked at 1479 euros. Devices already in marked increase compared to their predecessors. The Phone 13 Pro was marketed from 1159 euros when the iPhone 13 Pro Max was priced at 1259 euros.

This means respective increases of 170 and 220 euros when switching to the iPhone 14 Pro. What relativize the price increase that should show the new iPhone Pro this year.

The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus should keep a price level similar to the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus. These two models were offered from 1019 and 1169 euros, when they were released almost a year ago.

Despite a slowdown in the smartphone market expected in the second half of 2023, Apple would therefore expect to post a sharp increase in prices for two of its future models. The American firm would aim for a production of 85 million iPhone 15s this year, according to Bloomberg. A level slightly lower than the number of iPhone 14s put on the market last year.
