Appreciation of Prof. Paul Lendvai with a lot of celebrities at the ORF media campus

Vienna (OTS) – After the last ORF “European Studio” with Prof. Paul Lendvai on April 7th, today, on Friday, April 12th, 2024, numerous prominent guests came to a small celebration at the ORF media campus to celebrate their long career to honor the successful journalist. Prof. Paul Lendvai will remain with the ORF as an expert in current programs.

ORF General Director Roland Weißmann was particularly pleased about this:
“The ORF is proud to have had a world-class journalist, Prof. Paul Lendvai, on board with a regular program and to be able to continue to rely on his expertise. His contribution to understanding the world, journalism and democracy has long reached far beyond the country’s borders and the ORF as a pillar of society. Prof. Paul Lendvai’s work – closely linked to the ORF – has defined quality public journalism and often made it possible in the first place. I would like to thank him for his services to ORF and its audience.”

Prof. Paul Lendvai said in his speech: “In my 44 years as the inventor and moderator of the Eastern and European studios, my highest concern has been to give the audience the certainty that they are being informed independently, fairly and without missionary zeal. Now I feel that my work and my commitment to the ORF, to independent information, to Austria is valued and thanked.”

Present were, among others, Vienna’s mayor Michael Ludwig, ORF’s commercial director Eva Schindlauer, ORF radio director Ingrid Thurnher, ORF III managing director Peter Schöber, ex-ORF general director Alexander Wrabetz, Vice President of the European Parliament Othmar Karas, former Federal President Heinz Fischer, the former state governor Erwin Pröll, ORF board chairman Lothar Lockl and ex-vice chancellor Wilhelm Molterer as well as the former federal minister.
