Bangkok: 31 sailors missing after Thai Navy ship sinks The ship HTMS Sukhothai sank on Sunday night while on patrol in the Gulf of Thailand.
The accident happened 37 km off the south-east coast of Thailand. 75 people were rescued. A search for the others, led by the Thai Navy, is ongoing.
The search is being led by warships and helicopters. A Thai Navy spokesman said the loss of control of the ship was caused by an operating system malfunction.
