The homologation of university degrees in Medicine obtained abroad is an essential requirement for the exercise of the medical profession in Spain. In Spain, the non-EU doctor has two way to obtain the recognition of the title of specialist. On the one hand, obtain recognition of the professional effects of your non-EU specialist degree in another European country and work three years in said country. Recognition of the title of non-EU doctor
First of all, it is necessary to validate the foreign bachelor’s degree/degree to access MIR training; a procedure managed by the Ministry of Universities. Once the applicant has her title approved, she can request recognition of the specialty.
Of course, all foreign documentation must be correctly legalized and with the Hague Apostille to be valid in Spain. In those countries that are not signatories to the Hague Convention, legalization will be by diplomatic way.
Likewise, documentation written in a language other than Spanish must be sent translated by sworn translator accredited and duly legalized by means of a Hague apostille, or through diplomatic channels. These documents must preferably be accompanied by a photocopy in DIN A-4 format to avoid any deterioration of the originals and facilitate their digitization and subsequent delivery to the corresponding department.
Where to present the documentation for the homologation of titles?
Documentation can be submitted to the General Registry of the Ministry of Healthin any of the peripheral registries of the Ministry, or before the registries of the Government Delegations or Subdelegations.
If the applicant is abroad, they can send their documentation from the diplomatic representations or consular offices of Spain abroad.

Training period for the recognition of the specialty
