April – out now!

With its colorful April program, the ORF RadioKulturhaus welcomes you in spring!

This time, the actor adorns our baroque-opulently designed home game cover Tobias Moretti, which on 26.04. with the baroque ensemble wood sounds interweave music by Purcell and Dowland with texts by William Shakespeare in their program “My love is as a fever”. Hardly any poet of modern times has a similar cult status as William
Shakespeare (1564–1616), since then, hardly anyone else has had such a lasting influence on art. The secret may lie in the fact that Shakespeare was the first writer of modern times to invent unmistakable, individual personalities. Everything revolves around the wandering human being, whether he creates something or destroys something, whether he worships or murders: he always burns, and it’s always about love. This dramatic approach finds its counterpart in the music of the 16th and 17th centuries with works by Henry Purcell, John Dowland, John Blow and Thomas Preston, the Florian Hasenburger and Julia Moretti selected and arranged for this evening.

We will take you to different musical worlds with performances by the Orges & The Ockus-Rockus Band on April 21st, whose sound is characterized by Balkan beats, rock ‘n’ roll, gypsy swing, blues and jazz, in the “Onde d’Italia” series we bring composers and musicians Antonio Castrignano from Salento to Vienna, presenting his current album “Babilonia”. “Live@RKH” and the label NUMAVI RECORDS bring three extraordinary live acts: Red Gaze, OXYJANE and The Zew on stage (April 19) and you can look forward to a unique encounter with the singer-songwriters at “SoloTogether” (April 18). Felix Kramer and The Nino from Vienna be happy.

Armin Wolf and Peter Filzmaier present on 13.04. You can find out her book for the successful podcast “The Professor and the Wolf”, in which she explains Austrian political culture and how to snatch the power out of powerlessness, at “Im Zeit-Raum” (April 20) with the philosopher Melanie Wolfers.
