Aprilia factory rider Maverick Viñales secured third place in the MotoGP sprint at Silverstone. The Spaniard was also able to overtake his team-mate Aleix Espargaró, who launched an attack with five laps to go and came quite close to his compatriot.
Viñales was seventh on the first lap and consistently and flawlessly passed his opponents – including a near-touch with Jack Miller (Red Bull KTM). “I think it’s a boost to start the second half of the season like this.
