Arab Cup 2025: Qatar’s Minister of Sports Announces Ongoing Coordination with FIFA for Future Tournaments

Hamad bin Khalifa, the Qatari Minister of Sports, announced the existence of coordination with the Arab and International Football Federations, to hold the Arab Cup on an ongoing basis within the FIFA tournaments, after it hosted an exceptional edition in 2021 under the umbrella of the International Federation before the start of the recent 2022 World Cup in Doha.

Hamad bin Khalifa said in statements to the BeIN Sports channel: “We are preparing to hold the new version of the Arab Cup in December 2025 and are taking the final steps in coordination with the two Arab International Federations.”

Bin Khalifa explained, saying: “We are seeking for the tournament to be under the umbrella of the International Federation, because organizing the tournament under the FIFA umbrella adds great value to it and guarantees its success, and we are trying to have the tournament organized permanently.”

Qatar hosted the last edition of the Arab Cup in 2021 as a rehearsal for the World Cup. 16 teams participated in the tournament, divided into 4 groups with 4 teams in each group. It witnessed the Algerian team being crowned champion at the expense of Tunisia, and our national team participated before losing in the semi-finals to the Eagles of Carthage.
