ARD premieres police drama Tiroler Blut – Der erste Schuss on Oct 8

On October 8, 2026, the German public broadcaster ARD premieres “Tiroler Blut – Der erste Schuss,” a new police drama set in Innsbruck.

The broadcast is scheduled for 20:15, with a repeat airing set for 00:45 on October 9. For those unable to watch the live television event, the film will remain available for free streaming in the ARD-Mediathek until January 6, 2027.

Tobi Gruber Faces Accusations of Excessive Force

The story centers on the Gruber family, a lineage of law enforcement officers. While grandfather Hannes is retired, daughter Fanny serves as a top investigator at the local precinct, and Tobi has just joined the force. Tobi’s inaugural mission involves a confrontation with an intoxicated man threatening to unleash an aggressive dog. During the escalation, a shot is fired, resulting in the death of the animal and life-threatening injuries to the father.

The situation becomes complicated when the suspect’s wife accuses Tobi of losing control and using excessive force. Despite explicit orders to stand down, Fanny begins an independent investigation, sensing that the official account of the incident does not align with the truth.

Ursula Strauss and Noah L. Perktold Lead the Cast

Filming for the project took place between September 22 and November 18, 2025, across Innsbruck and Vienna. The production features a broad ensemble cast, led by Ursula Strauss as Fanny Gruber and Noah L. Perktold as Tobi Gruber. The cast also includes:

  • Sven-Eric Bechtolf as Hannes Gruber
  • Alina Fritsch as Ruth Fuchs
  • Kai Ivo Baulitz as Günter Gruber
  • Marlene Hauser, Aaron Karl, Harald Schrott, Susanne Michel, Dominic Marcus Singer, Aaron Murrer, and Emilia Poetsch as members of the Prantl family
  • Rina Juniku as Esma Sabernigg
  • Klaus Windisch as Eduard Hackl
  • Jakob Seeböck as Leonhardt Posch

While the production details have been confirmed, the outcome of Fanny’s unauthorized investigation and the ultimate resolution of the legal claims against Tobi remain to be seen by the audience.
