Argentine Colapinto prevails in the Formula 3 Sprint race in Melbourne

The Argentine Franco Colapinto (MP Motorsport) achieved tonight (on Saturday morning in Oceania territory) the victory in the International Formula 3 Sprint race that was held at the Melbourne racetrack, within the framework of the programming which includes the completion of the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix.

The driver from Buenos Aires, only 19 years old, had started in sixth place, but he knew how to specify a consistent driving plan during the 20 laps of the route that allowed him to advance in the classifier.

The member of the Williams Academy thus obtained his first win in the 2023 season and the third of his fledgling career in the category.

Colapinto surpassed the American Zach O’Sullivan (Prema Racing) and the Colombian Sebastián Montoya (Hitech GP), who completed the podium.

The pilot from Pilar will start tomorrow in seventh place in the main competition of the weekend (20.05 in Argentina), after completing a time that was 563 thousandths of a second behind the fastest, the Brazilian Gabriel Bortoleto (Trident).
