The eighth day of the Pan American Games once again had a lot of action for the Argentine athletes. In beach volleyball, Ana Gallay and Fernanda Pereyra qualified for the semifinals, after beating the Mexican couple in the quarterfinals. The Entre Ríos Gallay -three times Olympian- and the San Juan Pereyra -their duo in Tokyo 2020- beat the Aztecs Atenas Gutiérrez Guzmán and Abril Flores Castro by 2-0 (21-16 and 21-17) and tomorrow they will seek access to the final.
Another of the main attractions will be the presentation of Las Panteras. The Argentine volleyball team defeated Chile in the previous round and will seek a place in the final against the Dominican Republic with the guarantee of being able to secure, at the very least, the silver medal. If they make it to the final, they will have to wait for the resolution of the key between Brazil and Mexico to meet the next rival.
In the early hours of the morning, rowing was on the verge of winning medals as Clara Galfre and Oriana Ruiz finished in fourth place in the Double Sculls (W2X), as did Axel Haack and Agustín Scenna in the men’s Double Sculls (M2x). .
On the other hand, the silver medal achieved this Tuesday by Daniel Villafañe could continue in gymnastics this Wednesday afternoon. This athlete will compete in the vault final and Luca Alfieri will do the same on horizontal bar. In between, Nicole Iribarne and Lucila Estarli will compete in the final on the balance beam and Milagros Curti will do so on the floor.
