The 24-year-old fled to the balcony and alerted the police from there via cell phone. The drunk man was then turned away by the police and a ban on entry and approach was issued, as the Carinthia State Police Department announced. He is also charged with assault.
There was a heated argument between the couple in their shared apartment around 1 a.m. According to the police, the man initially became violent on a “smaller” scale. The 24-year-old locked herself in the bedroom to avoid the situation. The man then broke open the door, attacked his wife again and hit her in the face several times with his fist. She fled to the balcony and called the police emergency number. When the police intervened, the 26-year-old appeared to be understanding and stated that the situation had escalated due to his drunkenness. The 24-year-old did not call the emergency services.
