Ariège: a biker kills himself trying to escape the gendarmes

A 20-year-old biker died on Tuesday in Ariège after refusing to stop during a gendarmerie check, we learned from the Foix prosecutor’s office. “In Saint-Girons, the gendarmes noticed that the motorcycle (a small displacement, 125 cm3) did not have a license plate. They asked him to stop but he refused to comply, ”said a magistrate from the Foix prosecution.

According to the noon dispatch, the facts would have taken place around 3:15 p.m. The young man “was then chased by the gendarmes, who remained at a distance, and on arriving in the village of Engomer, a few kilometers from Saint-Girons, he took a small street and fell”, added the magistrate.
