PHOENIX — Tommy Pham hit a two-run double in the 11th inning after Ketel Marte tied it with a home run in the ninth, and the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Texas Rangers 4-3 Monday.

“It’s probably one of the best victories I’ve ever been a part of in my life,” Pham exclaimed.

The Rangers entered the ninth with a 1-0 lead thanks to Adolis Garcia, who hit his 31st home run, and Jordan Montgomery, who allowed just four hits in eight outstanding innings.

But Texas manager Bruce Bochy went with Aroldis Chapman instead of Will Smith (1-5) as closer and the decision backfired: Marte threw his first pitch to left to even it up.

Kevin Ginkel (7-0) got the win after allowing one hit and two runs in one inning. Smith took the loss after giving up two hits and three runs in just two-thirds of an inning.

For the Rangers, the Cuban Adolis García 5-1, with one scored and one towed. Dominicans Ezequiel Durán 4-0, with a run scored; Leody Taveras 3-1.

For the Diamondbacks, the Dominicans Ketel Marte 4-2, with two runs scored and one produced; Geraldo Perdomo 1-1, with a run scored and an RBI. Cuban Lourdes Gurriel 3-1. Venezuelan Gabriel Moreno 4-0, with a run scored.
