Arizona suspect arrested in Phoenix murder of three Mexican cousins

A suspect was arrested for the murder of three cousins ​​from Mexico, whose bodies were found in a vacant lot in Phoenix last month, police said Thursday.

Sgt. Philip Krynsky, a spokesman for the Phoenix Police Department, identified the suspect as 21-year-old Juan Vargas, but said the investigation was ongoing and no additional information about the slayings was immediately available.

The cousins ​​were from Oaxaca and relatives said they drove to Wisconsin to live with relatives, Phoenix television station ABC15 reported.
Vargas was booked on suspicion of first-degree murder in committing a felony, in addition to kidnapping, armed robbery with a deadly weapon and abandoning or concealing a body, according to jail records.

It is unknown if Vargas has a lawyer to speak about his judicial status.

Police identified the victims as Herminio Pérez Ramírez, 28; Isauro Martínez Domínguez, 21; and Abimael Jiménez Moreno, 16.
Their bodies had obvious signs of trauma, police said.
