On Saturday night, armed men entered a palanquin in the municipality of San José de Iturbide, Guanajuato, killing at least 3 people and wounding 4 others.
The incident occurred in the La Venta area where some armed men arrived at the scene and started shooting. Among the injured are a woman and a boy, who have already been taken to hospital and are reportedly undergoing treatment.
The government of San José Iturbide issued a statement saying that the Secretary of Public Security of the municipality cordoned off and secured the scene of the attack, all in order to carry out appropriate investigative measures.
“The Municipal Secretary of Public Safety is working to secure the scene of events and has ordered action to investigate and bring to justice those responsible for these acts of violence.
