Armenia and Azerbaijan reported the death of seven soldiers as a result of shooting on the border

Ministry of Defense of Armenia reportedthat as a result of shooting near the border with Azerbaijan, four soldiers were killed and six more were injured. The military department of Azerbaijan, for its part reported about the death of three soldiers. The number of victims is not known.

Over the past few hours, both sides have reported that the situation remains stable, the shooting has been suspended. Azerbaijan claims that the “operational situation” is under the control of its units.

Today, April 11, Azerbaijan accused Armenia of intensive shelling of its positions in the Lachin direction. At the same time, Yerevan stated that servicemen “carrying out engineering work” near the border with Azerbaijan were fired from Baku.

The Armenian Ministry of Defense reported that Azerbaijan used “mortar weapons.” The message from the Azerbaijani side said that Armenia was shelling “from mortars and large-caliber weapons.”

Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan, who was in Brussels on a working visit, is returning to the country in connection with an incident at the border. This was reported to journalists by the press secretary of the military department Aram Torosyan, TASS reports.
