“Education” sets working hours during Ramadan and allows them to be changed by no more than two hours

The Ministry of Education has set working hours during the holy month of Ramadan to 5 hours per day, from 10 am to 3 pm, with its affiliated sectors granted the authority to make changes in working hours not exceeding two hours, according to work needs and taking into account peak hours and congestion.

In a letter addressed to the directors of education and the sectors affiliated to the ministry, the Minister of Education, Youssef Al-Bunyan, reviewed by “News 24”, stressed the need for all parties to commit to announcing internally to their employees the working hours in the month of Ramadan and the time of their start and end, with a sufficient period not exceeding Sunday, March 19.

He pointed out that the Eid al-Fitr holiday begins with the end of working hours on Thursday, Ramadan 22, corresponding to April 13, and ends on Tuesday, 25 of the same month, provided that the return to work will be on Wednesday, Shawwal 6 1444 AH corresponding to April 26, 2023 “according to the Umm Al-Qura calendar,” for those covered by the provisions of the regulation.
