In a galaxy far, far away, mechs are waging a merciless war. It takes place on Rubicon – a planet devastated years ago by a storm of flames – and which hides an overpowering energy, the “Coral”. For your part, in the skin of “C4-621” (an improved human), you seek to offer your services to the highest bidder. After all, moving from one camp to another, it doesn’t matter as long as the money falls… But, on your way, a bunch of pissed off robot monsters who won’t give you any presents. It is on this premise that Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon begins, a new game from FromSoftware, creator of Elden Ring. For once, we put aside the dark fantasy universe, but we reconnect with a demanding experience | straight-forward gameplay. Another great game from FromSoftware
So what is Armored Core 6? Already, this is not an open world game | semi-open. Here, we are talking about individual missions, as in the previous parts of the license. A choice that we considered old-school on our preview, but which turns out to be quite beneficial for the pace of the adventure. Globally, Fires of Rubicon immerses us directly into the action every time, there is never a downtime. The only moments of calm are when you return to the Garage, between two action phases. In this place, a wonderful world of complexity awaits you. With Armored Core 6, you can and should customize your mecha at will, be it weapons (up to four in all), head, torso, legs, even generator, boosters. Once you have collected enough parts, you can create the build that suits you, with a big impact on the gameplay. Something to have fun already, but above all to develop a lot of strategies to overcome the obstacles that await you. All in all, we get a title with irreproachable sensations | great depth. For the writing of JV, it is 17/20.
