MUSICIANS Arnando Putra and Frank Pattinasarany have released their first collaborative single, entitled Blessing in Disguise on March 29 2024.
According to a press release from BSS Records (Berkarya Seni Suara), quoted Thursday (4/4), Blessing in Disguise is the first of two songs resulting from the instrumental guitar duet project.
Frank said that the project was initiated in mid-2021, when the Covid-19 pandemic required most people to work from home.
“Initially, Nando (Arnando) invited us to make this duet music project for virtual jam which was a trend at that time, but it turned out that at that time it had not been implemented,” said Frank.

Arnando again invited Frank to carry out their music project in early 2023, when he received an offer to fill the Jazz Club stage in Bandung.
“At that time, I immediately thought of presenting a duet project with Frank,” said Arnando.
Frank responded positively to Arnando’s offer and after several sessions in the studio they decided to continue the project by recording original compositions of each other’s music.

In that project, Arnando wrote the song His Spirit (For Riza) and Frank worked on the song Blessing in Disguise.
Blessing in Disguise tells a story about people who are at their lowest point in life but are still grateful.
When creating the song, which begins with the sound of a minor guitar plucking the theme melody and a dynamic rhythm, Frank was inspired by the playing of jazz guitar masters such as Pat Metheny, Toninho Horta and Tohpati.
The recording of Blessing in Disguise was carried out in July 2023 at Rendy Retanubun’s Forward Production Studio and the post-production process was carried out by Irlanto Pratama from Sound From Garage.
The song distributed by The OrchardTM (part of Sony Music Entertainment Group) can now be heard on all music streaming platforms. (Ant/Z-1)
