The named David Ndaye Nsabanga was apprehended 60 kilometers west of Kananga where he continued to lay down his law. Quoted in the case of the murder of the UN experts as having had only telephone contact with the perpetrators of this murder, nothing more, he had been released. He was eventually convicted of triple murder and sentenced to life in absentia. This Sunday, the army put an end to its cabal.

He is a celebrity in the province of Kasaï Central, bastion of the Kamwina Nsapu militia. The irreducible David Ndaye, alias Chief Nsabanga (“soap” in the Luba language), was arrested by soldiers in civilian clothes holding a warrant issued by military justice.

Sentenced for the murder of three people, the man had been wanted by the security services for two years. But he always managed to escape thanks to accomplices from the intelligence services. He was hiding in the city of Kananga, the provincial capital, says a source familiar with the matter.

According to the same source, it was the change at the head of the operational sector that led to his arrest. A trap is set for him. He goes to the Catholic mission of Tshikula to see a football match there. Elements of the army in civilian clothes infiltrated among the spectators challenged him. His bodyguards react, draw their weapons. But the soldiers are faster: one of the guards is killed on the spot, another is injured. Militia leader David Ndaye is now in prison in Kananga to serve his sentence.
