Dubai: India set a winning target of 193 runs against Hong Kong in the Asia Cup. After losing the toss, India batted first and scored 192 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in the stipulated over. Suryakumar Yadav scored 68 runs and Virat Kohli scored 59 runs for India.

Openers KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma did not get off to a good start for India against relatively weak Hong Kong. The openers managed to score just 38 runs for the first wicket. India lost Rohit’s wicket first. Rohit, who scored 21 runs off 13 balls, was taken by Ayush Shukla to Asias Khan.

Rahul tried to raise the score by joining Virat Kohli who came to the crease. Both of them crossed the team score of 90. But at least the run rate was a setback for India. But Hong Kong retaliated by returning Rahul with the score standing at 94. Rahul returned after giving a catch to Scott McKechnie off Muhammad Ghazanfar. The player returned with 36 runs from 39 balls.

With Suryakumar Yadav coming in after Rahul, Kohli and Suryakumar put on a half-century partnership off just 27 balls to accelerate the team score. Kohli then scored a half-century. The player reached his 31st career Twenty20 international half-century from 40 balls.

In the last overs, Kohli and Suryakumar’s batting firework led to the Indian score of 190. Suryakumar hit two consecutive sixes in the last overs to reach his half-century. The player scored his half-century from just 22 balls. Suryakumar hit 26 runs including four sixes in the last over. Both of them put together a partnership of 98 runs from 45 balls.

Suryakumar scored 68 runs off 26 balls with a six and a four each and Kohli remained unbeaten on 59 off 44 balls with the help of a four and three sixes. Ayush Shukla and Ghazanfar took one wicket each for Hong Kong.
