POLICE have succeeded in uncovering the motive behind the murder of a commercial sex worker (PSK) in Bali whose body was put in a suitcase and dumped in a mangrove forest on Jalan By Pass Ngurah Rai, Jimbaran. Apparently the victim asked to be paid IDR 1 million more than the initial agreement of IDR 500 thousand.

Denpasar City Resort Police uncovered the tragic case of the murder of a 23 year old woman, RA, from Parung Panjang, Bogor, West Java. The murder suspect is Amrin Al-Rasyid Pane, 21 years old, from South Tapanuli, North Sumatra.

Denpasar City Resort Police Chief Commissioner Wisnu Prabowo explained that this incident started when the perpetrator ordered the services of a prostitute via the Michat application. After price negotiations were completed, the victim and perpetrator agreed to meet in the perpetrator’s boarding room on Jalan Bhineka Jati Jaya IX No. 15, Kuta Badung, with a tariff of IDR 500 thousand.

However, after the service was completed, the victim asked for an additional payment of IDR 500 thousand, bringing the total bill to IDR 1 million. When the perpetrator refused and claimed he only had IDR 500 thousand, the victim threatened to call his friends, which made the perpetrator panic.

Prabowo explained that the perpetrator then killed the victim by cutting his neck from behind using his kitchen knife. This tragic incident occurred early in the morning on Friday (3/5), around 03.00 WITA. After the victim’s death, the perpetrator put his body in a suitcase and threw it in the mangrove forest on Jalan By Pass Ngurah Rai, Jimbaran.

This case was revealed after neighbors of the perpetrator’s boarding house reported a commotion at the boarding house and suspected there were signs of abuse because there was blood all over the place.

According to Prabowo, the victim had just come to Bali three days before the incident and had serious domestic problems, which made him come to Bali. Meanwhile, the perpetrator had lived in Bali for a year, but had only rented a room on the second floor of the boarding house where the incident occurred only one month before.

This case is a warning about the dangers of online applications that facilitate risky encounters like this. Hopefully this case will be a lesson for people to be more careful when interacting in cyberspace. (Z-10)
