Astrophysicists from Lund University explained the appearance of a mysterious ripple in the Milky Way by a dwarf galaxy from the constellation Sagittarius, the work of scientists was published в журнале Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.
Using the Gaia space telescope, scientists have detected ripples in large parts of the outer disk of the galaxy. After that, scientists measured the strength of the ripples in all parts of the disk of the Milky Way, it turned out that the constellation Sagittarius ripples the most.
