The poor living conditions that thousands of Cubans go through continues to be the main cause for them to decide to throw themselves into the sea putting his life at risk, but with the dream of reaching the United States to request shelter.
A clear example of this was a group of at least 27 Cubans who set sail on Friday from Playa Baracoa, province of Artemisa, on a fishing boat bound for Florida.
According to information released by CubitaNOW, considered a media outlet independent of the Cuban regime, The group that braved the force of the sea to reach the American Union included eight children, who fortunately arrived in Florida unharmed.
“The group arrived in the United States, left at dawn on Friday from Playa Baracoa, province of Artemisa, and in about 24 hours managed to make landfall in the United States. This medium confirmed that among the Cubans, at least eight children made the dangerous journey,” says a message posted on Twitter.
About, Walter N. Slosar, head of the maritime rescue corps in the Miami Sector, corroborated the information about the Cuban rafters who set foot on US territory this Saturday.

It should be noted that the day before, Yunier Gutiérrez —who in December was captured by the Cuban regime’s Border Guard Troops (TGF) while trying to leave the Caribbean island— also managed to reach the United States on his second attempt.
“Approximately eight months ago we were (sic) attacked by the Cuban coastguard (…) but today, July 20, 2022, they managed to reach the United States,” said Lisaida Mochey Delgado, wife of Gutiérrez.
The US Coast Guard notes that Between October 1 of last year and April 18, 2022, 3,516 Cuban rafters were intercepted in the waters of the Straits of Florida, area of migrant traffic mostly from Cuba and Haiti.
To this number must also be added another 4,361 Cubans who have been repatriated in collaboration with the Mexican government so far this year.
